About Me

Hi my name is Linda Shute the creator of this blog. I bet you’re one of the millions of folks out there wonder just where this once great country of ours is heading. There are no jobs to speak of, the dollar is failing, and food costs are rising weekly, taxes are increasing so, what do you do?

This country was built and made great by entrepreneurs in the 1790’s as stated on A Growing Nation farmers made up 90% of labor force and some were shopkeepers’ people supported themselves instead or relying on employers or their government. However, we got away from that and moved to an employee mindset workforce. I truly believe that we can make this country great again but it will be the Entrepreneurs’ mindsets which will make this happen again. Entrepreneurialism is not taught in the public school or college systems.

Our education system is a failure see Losing The Education Race American students rank 25th in math, 17th in science and 14th in reading compared to students in 27 industrialized countries. (OECD, 2012). It has dumbed us down and taught us to be an employee or follower not a leader or business owner. Most know longer know how to be self-sufficient for survival.

Many who live in towns and cities have no idea how to take care of themselves outside of shopping at the big chain stores or visiting a doctors office when they are ill for the smallest thing.

I live in the Appalachian Mountains raise goats, chickens, and rabbits for pleasure and food. I can and dehydrate vegetables, fruits and meats. I make several of my own personal care products such as soaps, toothpaste, saves and lotions herbal health care salves, syrups and elixirs.

Primarily I try my best to avoid GMO foods and most highly processed foods and beverages I eat organic as much as possible when I have to purchase something I do not make or grow.
